There is a new way of shopping at some stores that the older generation doesn't understand. My son lives a few hours from me and uses Home Depot as his go to store. I have always used Menards. When I am helping him on a project and go to Home Depot he pulls out his phone and types in what he is looking for. He has the Home Depot app loaded and it tells him where to find what he is looking for. Basically self service instead of having someone help you. I know most people on this sight will think this is a crazy idea but it works and keeps costs down. Go ahead and blast away on this crazy idea. The basic idea of self service has been underway for decades. This is just the next step.
When it comes to needing help on how to do something, think about it. Should you really be asking a store clerk how to wire your house? Do your research before you go to the store. This wonderful thing called a computer has access to more information than a store clerk will ever know. I often wonder what liability a store has when giving advice to a customer. Seems like Home Depot wants to avoid giving any advice.
