It has been that way since it opened. many moon's back i would make my bi monthly threc down to Oxen hill Md. back in the mid sixtys , now that was back before I 70 was totally done as you had short section of it and sections of Old 40 . We will not get into the land speed records i would break doing so . I had a hand in the building of the interstate system but did not work on I 70 . We crossed I 70 and did the I 70 I 75 interchange , did the grubbing for I 76 of about five miles .
