I plan on selling my ~1960 Ford 1801 Industrial tractor with a loader, and I want to replace it with a backhoe. I plan on using this backhoe around the house and for other projects involving digging and somewhat heavy lifting (like truck engines and transmissions). I'm fine with getting something older than made in the 1980s, but I need to be able to get parts for it and perform maintenance without needing another tractor with a hoist for help (that's a problem with my current tractor - I have nothing to help remove its cast iron nose to replace the radiator hose).
Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking Case and John Deere were no-brainers, but I'm interested in Ford backhoes as well if they meet the above requirements. When mentioning models, please specify model years if they make any difference.
