Perhaps you should assume that it was a booger in the fuel line. A booger from the fuel tank. Perhaps he has drained off the bad fuel. Did he replenish with fresh and clean fuel. And perhaps he was successful in blowing out a clog that you had only partial success with.
Sounds like you need to get it back in the field and working.
