Intriguing idea. What are your goals in this? If it is to have fun, go for it. If it is to assemble a decent tractor on the cheap, I would suggest starting with a dead tractor and changing the engine & clutch out for whatever you can scrounge. An F-12 or F-14 Farmall comes to mind. Really cheap. Has framerails to mount any engine on Has an easily adapted method of connecting the engine/clutch output to the transmission. PTO is driven from the transmission and is already there. Up/down hydraulics are available on some, but are not normally used for a 3pt that needs inbetween settings.
