I use quite a bit of hose and Tractor supply's seem to hold up pretty well. They get a massive bulk discount by buying a huge amount at once, whereas your local auto store is not even trying--they are using the "airport gift shop" philosophy of pricing, i.e. you are a captive audience there spending big money, so they are going to get in on that action. (Our local auto stores try--they are competitive with Tractor Supply).
