Hydraulic hoses

I have a general question I hope I can get some advice on.I needed some new Hydraulic hoses the other day, went to Tractor supply store and they had some on the shelf in foot increments with the ends on them , I saw the 5 footer I needed priced about $15. I had to make a trip to the auto parts store, and they make hoses, so I thought I would just pick one up there, they have helped me find filters and stuff. they made the hose and put the ends on, it was $60! Any reason I should spend that much difference? Now I need a new 3 foot hose for my loader, 1/2 inch ends, should I spend $50 or go spend ten bucks?
