Folks, I have read your comments with much interest and some sadness. I was born in 1930. My father came from the farm to Chicago. I remember the depresion where most people were hurting. This country has always been subject to economic cycles. It also has seen various groups get the economic upper hand so to speak over others. No group be they farmers, corporations, government, unions, engineers ever gave much thought to the effect their greed or love of power did to their neighbors. Farmers got paid to plant and raise nothing. Union workers(and unions were needed) got a better deal than non union and that was really true in the steel, automotive, coal and railroads and then that ended. High tech electronis workers in the silicon valley are today the highest paid group averaging $70k plus per year and that is ending. The truth is nothing last forever in this world. I think the swings would be less violent and hurtfull if we cared more about each other and our country and the world instead of ONLY ME AND MINE. My only suggestion to you young folks is learn your history and quit making the same mistakes we made
