Rebuilt engine last year with full rebuild kit, minus new valves which looked good. Replaced sleeves, rings, pistons, bearings, reseated valves. About 60-70 hrs run time on the rebuild.
Was mowing and engine started running rough with lost power. Pulled plug wires and found that 2&3 cylinders had spark but pulling wires did not change engine sound.
Checked spark at garage and it is strong to both cylinders. Changed out plugs, no help. Did a finger compression test and almost no compression on either 2 or 3. 1&4 strong compression.
Plugs not badly fouled, not using oil, no smoke in exhaust, no water seen on dip stick.
Haven t pulled the hood and gas tank to remove valve cover.
