Ron: I looked up the serial number on this web site and it seems that machine would have been made in very late 1967. If this salesman is working for a dealer and they have a service center, get them to put the carb right for you. I bought my 3 cylinder gas tractor from a dealer, and he wasn't willing to bargain on the price, but he did promise (in writing) to sell me a 'mechanically sound" tractor. All in, I was (am) very happy with the machine. (For more details, read the posts on the MF thread re: 135 advice from late last week.) I would ask Big Dean Austin about the potential problems with the fuel system, and about the difficulty involved in repair. He is absolutely wonderful: generous and knowledgable. I cleaned out my entire fuel system (lined the rusty gas tank, cleaned the lines, and rebuilt the carb). I set the valves gaps (Big Dean suggested I do that while I had the gas tank off)and my little tractor runs smoothly and doesn't leak gas now. If you plan to use the tractor quite a bit I would consider looking around for a diesel because of the reduced fuel costs. My humble opinion only. When I was pricing these late 60's/early 70's 135s I found the US and Canadian prices to be comparable (regardless of the exchange rate). If I were an American, and lived close enough to Canada, I'd consider looking for a 135 up here. Anyway, good luck. I love my 135 and am always interested in other folks' experiences with the model.

I have been restoring old Farm Tractors for the past 6 years, and have found it easier and less expensive to hit all the auctions and purchase whole tractors for parts needed. My wife who works at a local school, and only has weekends and summers off, while on t
