You bet it will destroy that gauge. Years ago I had a brand new German VDO gauge. They are NOT cheep. Just for giggles I checked a rear tractor tire. About four days latter the internals of that gauge were destroyed. If you want to check loaded tire pressure firstly it must have the valve at the top. Next blow a little air into the tire. This clears any fluids out of the valve stem. Then you can use a cheep gauge to check the pressure.
