DB rear tire inflation

What model and what are you doing with it would be good to know?

15# would be a good starting point.

Thank you. The tractor is a DB 880. It is used for field work and mainly with a 5 foot brush hog.

Just two cents. Rears from 12-15 pounds is pretty good. Gives good traction and decent ride. Just don't go tooooo low. Long ago I was plowing and most likely had the pressure around 4 to maybe 6. Pealed the tire off the rim. Only time we ever had to call a service truck. Kinda shredded the tube too. Pop was not happy. That is what happens when you read an artical in a farm magazine. Going to tubless lawn and garden tractor tires. Got a nail in one two weeks ago. I only use CAMEL repair products. The little hole plug ropes work very well. I do not use the rubber cement. I switched to Weldwood Contact cement. Stuff does a bangup job. Just goop things up and shove the rope plug in.

You bet it will destroy that gauge. Years ago I had a brand new German VDO gauge. They are NOT cheep. Just for giggles I checked a rear tractor tire. About four days latter the internals of that gauge were destroyed. If you want to check loaded tire pressure firstly it must have the valve at the top. Next blow a little air into the tire. This clears any fluids out of the valve stem. Then you can use a cheep gauge to check the pressure.
