We lost almost all hay (baled and fields) during hurricane Harvey. I lost almost 400 rolls and still to this day don't know where they floated off too. Then last year it started raining in June and never stopped. I actually baled a jigs field the week after Thanksgiving!
Hay prices more than doubled. 4x5 round bales of Bahia that sold in June for $ 35.00 were selling for $120 by November. Jigs went from $40-50 to $ 150.
Hoping for a good year this year. Demand is there, hopefully the grass will be too!
