geeze been long time since I have seen one, used them for years there is a round paper disc you put in it and shut the door, it will record your speed, stops and miles drive the disc has 1 thru 24 on it if it is 800 am nd you start driving it will scribe, a fine line on card how fast you were driving shows slow down nd stops, they were called tattle tales
