When we plowed fields which was years ago, yes, plowed dirt in one year then plowed dirt out the next year. There was always a 'dead' furrow in the field. You were plowing in 'lands' (strips), there was no way to avoid a dead furrow when you finished the 'land'. From the eastern corn belt perspective we never used a one way plow, they just were never seen at dealer lots. Another eye opener from the plowing thread is plowing without coulters. Plows at dealers here would not have sold without straight coulters to cut residue on the plow. Never saw or used a plow without coulters until they were seen here on YT forums.
