I was conversing the other day with a used tractor "wheeler-dealer" and mentioned I saw a JD R for sale. He told me not to pay more than $XXXX for it because the bottom has fallen out of the JD prices. He told me in the last year or so it seems that the market has become more or less flooded by the old models and now that every one who wanted one has one, there is no one wanting to buy more. He also told me that parts for some models are so expensive that those models do not command a very high price because they are worth more in parts than they are as a complete tractor. So now MIGHT be the time to buy a JD if you ever think you might want one. Prices may never be lower. btw...did you ever notice that every time some one says anything against a JD a large percentage of JD guys get rude, ugly and foul mouthed in their responce. hhhhmmmm......Kinda makes you wonder if no one wants to be associated with an old JD for fear they will be veiwed in this light and that is why the old Deeres are not selling. let the attacks begin :)
