Our local Ford dealer did OK in early '60,s because the died in the wool Ford farmers went nuts over the "new" Commander 6000,s as they thought it was Fords great answer to the 4010 and Oliver 1800 and IH 806. Once those few got a "lesson in life" about small cubic inch "car engines" trying to compete with 100 cid more , that was about the end of Ford around here. They floudered with some off shoot stuff and implements but eventually folded shortly after. The 6000,s looked kinda nice...kinda Edsel ish...but a 272 cid engine will not keep up with a 4010 and later the 404 4020. 6000 was only 60 some hp and they all tried hauling 4 bottoms with them and a clod buster also. Screamed their poor guts out.
