I just mowed 3 acres with my 1949 Case SC tractor with a 5' Hi-Co rotary cutter. The tractor had been sitting unused for about 12-14 years, and no one has been living on the place. We've been hiring folks to mow once or twice a year for $300 a pop. I spent about 3 months working on the tractor and brush hog, and everything (knock on wood) is running like a top. I just mowed the place- and the grass was taller than the tractor. (and the rear wheels are 5'-6" tall!) The tractor had no trouble, and it was a blast to lug through all that green. The new radiator is quite full of grass seeds, though! I did the math- and I haven't mowed this place (or used this tractor) in over 16 years! I'd forgotten how long 3 acres could take in 1st gear. Hopefully, now that I've beaten back the Hun, second gear will be just fine for the next go-round. Happy mowing, -Schotte

As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
