While running the maintenance truck for a large mining company I had a problem with a large track hoe years ago. It would be running fine and suddenly it would start starving for fuel and shut down the operator would call me on the radio and by time I got there and looked everything over and primed it to get it going the fuel would be flowing fine from the tank. This happened a couple of times and then it finally shut down and would not flow fuel. There was a small acorn in the tank. Fortunately the tank was only about 1/4 full when we had to pull it to clean it out. Never underestimate the stopping power of a small acorn!
