Sorry to hear of the job situation. A masters degree can be a hinderance as much as an asset.
The "Over qaulified" term is an excuse employers use to not hire an older person (like us). The health insurance cost more with "older" employees on the payrole. And since most employers pay the insurance, that drives up operating costs and these cost must be passed along to the consumer. "Older employees" are not usually afraid to speak their minds about something job related if they see an injustice happening and employers don't like workers who question their motives, idea, veiws, or policies. They like young workers who have bills out the wahzoo. Young employees are afraid they will loose their income and their new 4x4, mobile home, 4 wheeler, ect and therefore work and say nothing, even if they KNOW something isn't right about it. Yeppers, young, strong, ambitious and dumber than a rock is the ideal worker these days! *L*
Guess I shouldn't say it that way, but you know what I mean.
