My Grandson feeds brewers grain. They buy baby Holstein calves and farm them out for 10 weeks. They have buyers for some and feed some for another 10 weeks and have buyers for some of those also. Last Friday I talked to him and they had five semis of calves to haul to 17 farms. He had 1000 of the 20 week calves and all were headed to feed lots in a few days. I have no idea if they are making any money but they are starting another new barn and just bought another farm. Baby calves come in on Tuesdays and Fridays and have been for several years. They started out doing the first 10 weeks with the bottles. The picture is of the second day on the first load in the new barn. 400 I think.
