Our first tractor was an Allis B with a county belly mount mower. We sort of used it like you describe but like others have said, getting that mower on and off was half a day of sweat, swear and good luck. We did manage to maintain the finger count but it was close some times. The tractor could seem light sometimes hauling wagons. One of the neighbors later had a N series Ford with a belly mount mower for kind of the same deal but he ran into the same problems and he got rid of it. I would think a wide front WD, WD45 or D17 would be about what you want. The D17 would be the most bucks but just might have a factory three point and I bet you would like it. I'd say Massey 50 or 65, but that would probably run more than you may want to pay.
