There is no reason why you couldn't, however, I think that it would not be long before you would be looking for a smaller tractor. The problem is the logistics of moving when you have dug all that you can in one position. Loader backhoes have a compact cab that enables the operator to quickly swivel the seat in order to move the tractor, and the operator can also easily reach behind to his left to raise the bucket a little so that he can push the tractor with the hoe in order to move ahead. With that 9600 your hoe seat will be considerably lower than the 9600's seat, and you will have the fuel tank in between, so you will not be able to reach any of the tractor controls without climbing down and then back up. It will get old fast.
