Slowly working our way back to Sydney on the east coast of Australia. Talked to some farmers, many are in dire shape with the drought, low cattle prices, poor returns for milk and on and on. Many cattle were lost in severe storms in Queensland which followed a drought so severe that cattle were driven south on livestock routes to find feed and to market. Nearly all pastures are Brown and this field of corn will not yield much. Some government programs are in the works but for many it may be a case of too little too late. Those of us who take rainfall and water for granted should think again. The next world was will indeed be fought over water and not oil. Ben
