I would agree with the salesman. That is the most likely cause, although other things could also cause vibration in the clutch pedal. However the only way to determine for sure, would be to split the tractor. Does the clutch work okay otherwise? From a time standpoint, if you are going to all the work to split a tractor, I would not put it back together without replacing the pressure plate, clutch plate, and throwout bearing, even if they don't look that bad. My two cents worth.
