Steve, the times are top: time of day, bottom: shot clock; each contestant gets only so much time to get his full pull. He can make as many tries as he can get into his time, but it is rarely more than two. A "pull" is whatever the local rules state. It appears that in the video that the boat has to go beyond the side rails, but it can be any set distance and they measure with a tape if it is close or to determine placings. The tractor stone boat is often being used by the tractor pullers at the same time. Or, if you are referring to a transfer sled, probably no pullers would show up if something so radical were done, LOL.
