When I was a kid everybody hereabouts heated their house with one or even two of these, indeed it was lighted by running in some oil,(fuel oil) and dropping a wad of lit paper thru the door, close the door immediately so the house doesn't soot up.If the pipe and oil supply wasn't real clean the valves could stick shut usually. Most people put a filter, like an old canister automotive oil filter on them, right where the fuel line met the valve body. As old as this has to be, probably time to pull the can out and inspect it thoroughly anyhow. John in Ne.
