I just learned about this 5.3 using oil the other day on the web. And a young kid i work with bought an 08 with 80,000 on it..Bought it from a ford dealer. Its starting to all make sense now. He had it 2 months and run it out of oil. Thought the dealer didnt put enough in it and put oil in it and drove it. 2 months later it run out of oil again. I knew about the problem.I find out that others have had the same problem right here in my town. There are other problems those half tons have as well. My work has a 2015 that wont take fuel when you try to fill the tank. The nozzle keeps clicking off. It has a plugged charcoal filter by the tank. $$$ Had to put a new torque converter in it at 50,000 miles. My .02
