Hi Pat: Looks like you have been given alot of good advice. I labored over the same question 4 years ago, and was all set to buy an 8N, when I came across a MF35, with Perkins diesel. The advantages of the MF35 over the 8N are, live PTO (you want this, in my opinion), high/low range transmission, 12 volt negative ground electrical system, live hydraulics and more robust power, all in the same size package as an 8N. I see MF35's in 'the shopper' here for $2500.00 and up, now and then. I really believe the Massey is the best kept secret in compact tractors. One note of caution, if you purchase a tractor without live PTO, and plan on using a rotary mower, USE an over running clutch (ORC)! Happy and safe tractoring. Terry Terry
