Seriously, your friend really should get at least the operator's manual, and maybe the service/repair manual, when he goes to the dealer for numerous reasons he will find to use them in years to come. There are some used manuals on eBay as well, make sure serial number range matches his tractor. You can access the parts manual for free on line at the Case site.
If his DX60 has loop type rims; changing the tread width is basically a function of which side of the wheel center the rim loops are on, which way the center is mounted, and which side the of the tractor a wheel is on. In the manual there should be a chart similar to the John Deere one attached, which will show you the arrangement for different widths. Be careful if you change them, especially if the tires are loaded, they can hurt people if they fall on someone.
