Scott, I think it all boils down to the fact that all three U.S. makers have their lemons. Yes, I am a Dodge man, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another make if my truck was troublesome. One of my co-workers totally shucked the 350 in his Chevy the other day. It is a 1992, and it only had around 70,000 miles. On the other hand, my dad has a 87 Dakota. It has right around 250k on it, and he hasn't had to touch it other than the EGR valve that needed to be replaced at around 90k. Never had any problems with the tranny or motor, which suprises me since it was the first year of that model. All in all I've been happy with my Dodge, hopefully for a long time to come. I'm not going to bash Chevy or Ford, they make good trucks too. All I know is that I cant afford a new truck, so if I have to repaint, install a new motor and/or tranny, I'll do it and be money ahead compared to 30k for a new one. Matt
