I have an old style farmhand loader that has its own pto pump and hydraulic fluid reservor. It is one way hrdaulics, and therefore the loader is gravity drop. It has a double valve body so it has a valve for the loader and one for the bucket. But it is still gravity drop for both. This pto driven pump is pretty powerful and has the capability of lifting more than you would want to with this old style loader. The front bucket is hydraulic cylinder to cable and spools and you don't want to push the limit with that. If it wasn't for the possibilty of the cables breaking there is no telling what you could raise with this loader. This loader that I have is on a tractor with no live pto which is kind of a draw back for the tractor loader combination. If you could figure out a way to make it two way hydraulic, and prefferably live pto, it would be one heck of a hydraulic set up.
