How do you set the depth on an International 510 drill? No, my question is: How do you know how deep you are setting it? And how do you keep setting it at the same depth?
I borrowed this drill from a neighbor last spring, to drill some clover with oats as a nurse crop.
The main body of the drill runs on the outside wheels. The cylinder raises and lowers the openers/planting units.
My goal was to plant clover half an inch. However, it just seemed like a guess as to depth.
There seemed to be no markings or limiter or anything to set the depth. It seemed like I should just guess at where in the middle to set the cylinder.
My question is: Is there some way to set this drill to plant at a chosen depth? Do other drills do a better job of letting you set the planting depth?
On this drill, there is a small seed box, but he had removed the tubes, so I didn�t use it, just mixed the clover and oats and put them in the main box.
