This "report" has been floating around the web since mid august. The only problem with it is this: the official report, as released by the Madina Sheriff and the state of Ohio, published by the cleveland plain dealer and others,plainly states that it was an explosion due to operator error and low water, with no mention of any boiler deterioration. Payton has also advocated the manditory retirement of all boilers over fifty years old, no matter its physical condition. Until I myself see pictures and physical evidence to the contrary, I, and others with many years experience, regard this alleged official report as erronious and not bonafide.
