In 1996, bought a brand new GMC 4x4 pickup. Rotated the tires every 5000 miles. They lasted about 50000 miles. In 2009, got another new GMC 4x4. Never rotated tires, just changed them for snows and put the same tire on the same wheel when changing. They lasted about 50000 miles. Now, I never bother to rotate on schedule, but I will swap side to side or front to back if the wear pattern is uneven. Never had a flat due to tire failure, usually the belts let go when the tread is just about done anyways. Never had alignment issues, but I did have to change ball joints at 100000 miles which were causing tire wear. Ben
