For anybody that has looked at the pyrometer on their diesel while lugging it will find they buy a lot of turbos with the temp going to the 1200 degree figures and higher, if kept doing that for long. Those 3406 cats will pull without lugging hard. Now the old cats like our D-4 would lug through tough spots or over the top of a hill like that W40. Those were not turboed and had to be cooled after use so the engine temperature could all equalize before shut down.
