Tire deterioration

I have discovered an 18.4 x 26 "Tractor King" tire which has been lying on its side covered by vegetation for five years. Its bead is slightly broken on one side (about 1 inch long but still attached). The overall tread profile is excellent. Uninflated, there is some age cracking on the sidewalls but the rubber still seems resilient and good. Question:
If I use an inner tube (not sure if the broken bead will hold air), is this tire safe and usable after five years in the weeds or would I be better off taking it to the dump? Should I spend the time, effort, and expense of mounting this tire?
