When using PTO driven equipment run the engine at the speed indicated for 540 PTO speed. If I remember right it is 1750 engine speed on the 135. The PTO speed is marked on the tachometer.
All PTO driven equipment is designed to run at either 540 or 1000 RPM. When plowing or when tractor is under a load try to keep the throttle set so the engine is running as close to the PTO designated speed as possible. You may have to change gears to accomplish this. That is my 2 cents worth.
