Mine still works, and it still gets used. I agree with CharleyB, Billintex and G Taylor, use it until it busts!
Converting it to receive FM broadcasts is probably not a practical alternative - would require you to ba able to look at the horizon, and replace the feed horn with a different antenna. A common TV antenna on your roof would make much more sense for this. Besides you can get lotsa broadcast stuff on the subcarriers - often the same stuff carried by the broadcasters in your area!
