I have never owned a Generac product, but I know folks who have and their experience was not particularly good. And, as I mentioned a while back, I saw them stacked up like cordwood at a local metal recycling outfit.
That said, there are a number of local shops that install them by the dozens. I assume that's because it's very profitable; it takes the same amount of labor to install a Generac as it does a Kohler, but they can sell Generacs at a price anybody can afford. And any time you criticize somebody's bread and butter business, they tend to take offense.
