Your statement "Avgas doesn't get old as fast as auto gas" doesn't make any sense. Maybe it seems that way because you fly your plane more than you drive the tractors! Aviation gas is nothing more than high-octane gasoline. Road gas has different vapor pressures too, just depends on where you live and what season of the year it is. Lead, or lack of it, is not an issue. In any event, some people use a product like Sta-Bil. It is supposed to minimize varnish formation. I use B12-Chemtool which instantly dissolves varnish deposits. Any decent auto parts has both products.
