My thought is that the Fusible Plug was probably coverd and encrusted with hard water deposits,a very common thing.When the water got low enough to uncover the plug,it should have melted and relieved pressure before exploding.I have operated both steam locomotives and traction engines,so this accident hits close to home for me.My last thought is this,if you own or run a steam engine replace the fusible plug or at least remove and clean it of all deposits so it can do it's job if needed.That's all BillJ
