Just guessing here, but if you had the steering cylinder apart. Did it have an o-ring on the shaft to keep it from leaking through by the shaft to piston as well as the barrel to piston seals? That could let oil flow by the piston at the shaft under load that would not necessarily happen with no weight on the wheels. Reason for asking is, if I read your post right you sounded like you had an extra o-ring. NOT trying to criticize here just asking. Don't shoot the help. LOL
