Does it have a plate welded to the tank around the fitting the pump screws into. If not do it now not after the bung cracks out in the tank. The weight of the pump bouncing around in the back of a pickup will crack the bung loose in the top of the tank. The plate spreads the stress over a larger area. NO welding on the tank will not explode it if you finish the job and not go eat dinner then come back out to finish it.
