Fuel transfer tank update

I purchased a 110 gal tank to fit in the back of my Dodge 3500 couple days ago. Purchased it with a pump not working. He wanted 160 and took 140. All it needed was a switch. I tried it out today, and seams to work good. After lugging 5 gal jeep cans around for 20 years, this setup will be a welcomed relief for this old guy. Stan

Before you fill that baby up.....give her a little wash out. That way you know you are starting with a slik clean tank. Nothing will ruin your day like a bunch of crap in the bottom of a tank. Good deal. ;)

Does it have a plate welded to the tank around the fitting the pump screws into. If not do it now not after the bung cracks out in the tank. The weight of the pump bouncing around in the back of a pickup will crack the bung loose in the top of the tank. The plate spreads the stress over a larger area.
NO welding on the tank will not explode it if you finish the job and not go eat dinner then come back out to finish it.

Caterpillar guy I have no problem welding on a fuel tank with some sloshing on the other end, but you have just ignited a serious discussion!

The hose nozzle is at one of the tank. It appears to be long enough to reach the tractor on the trailer. I can reach the tank filler and nozzle from the ground. The tractor stays on the trailer most of my mowing season. I just need to use my step stool to reach the fill cap on the tractor. I am sure there is something I will not like about it. Time will tell. Stan
