All the commercial carrier that i know of hauled freight in box trailers hauled it the same way. I would say 90% of your box trailers have no way to chain any thing down inside. We did have a few places that put pieces of steel designed to set between floor of trailer and the runners under the skid of coil to keep them from moving. We had a number of places that it stated it had to be hauled in a enclosed box trailer. I have never in 38 years seen a DOT officer say any thing about how it was loaded.
