His tractor has the American 312 engine, not the German IH Neuss 310, so there's no Tee handle on the fuel stop. What IS needed for starting is NEVER start at idle throttle position, but with 1/3 or more throttle. American Bosch M100 pumps have an excess fuel cylinder that ONLY works with throttle lever at 1/3 or more. When the engine starts the cylinder moves the fuel stop plate to the less fuel, run position by engine oil pressure. If engine is getting tired, it still will need help. Last tractor drive I was on in Wisconsin in October, a fellow with the same tractor plugged his in so it would start Saturday at 28 degrees. His engine was getting worn enough it didn't start well cold though.
