All good replies ...... but I would guess that you could use pretty much any off-the-shelf engine oil available today and that engine wouldn't know one way or the other, and it would perform equally well with any of them. Outside temperature of course a factor for the SAE oil viscosity that you choose (10W30 or 15W40, etc). I suspect that any "economy oil" available today would outperform premium oils from 50 years ago. Same thing applies to a lot of things I think, can you imagine an NBA team from 2018 playing basketball against the 1967 76'ers champs?
