I had my first colonoscopy at age 63. Boy am I glad I did, as they found colon cancer. I had an operation and took chemo treatments weekly for 6 months. thank God it worked. I had to have test done yearly for about 10 years and now am on a 2 or 3 year schedule as it fits my schedule at 80 years old. This is important that it's not your children that need to have the test, but your siblings as you all have the same genes. That was not my last bout with cancer, because I have survived 2 more bouts with throat and lung cancers. I still made it and tell everybody else to do what you have to do for tests.
