Thought I'd start getting things in shape for end of year filings and all. Visit irs.gov and WOW......things have changed. Apparently there is a brand new 1040 due out because in looking at the SS tax rate calculation form, which is out for 2018, references are made to 1040 line numbers that aren't there on the existing 1040 we've used for years.
In addition, Schedule F calculations have a new set of rules, one to quote is that 7 year depreciation items are now 5 year.
Apparently IRS hasn't published (www irs.gov) the new 1040 but the new farmer's tax guide is out there.....https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p225.pdf
Anybody know where the new 1040 might be located if published at this time?
